Wawa Selects Radiant As Exclusive POS Provider
Wawa Inc. has agreed to deploy Radiant Systems' point-of-sale and related technology all of its 570 Wawa stores, which operate in the Mid-Atlantic region.
"We are looking to improve the customer experience and grow," said Howard Stoeckel, president and CEO of Wawa Inc. "We view Radiant as a key enabler to these strategic initiatives."
Since 2001, Radiant has provided self-service touch-screen technology for Wawa's industry-leading foodservice offering, often deploying as many as five terminals per site to enable consumers to quickly and accurately select their orders from the retailer's extensive menu, according to Atlanta-based Radiant.
Wawa's new agreement with the technology vendor extends Radiant's applications to the traditional point-of-sale as well as fuel controllers and above-store management software, according to Radiant. Key criteria in Wawa's selection of Radiant POS included speed of service, data and credit card security, speed to market of marketing programs, system uptime and total cost of ownership, according to a Radiant statement.
"Wawa is a true industry leader; defining what the convenience retail experience will look like for years to come," said Mark Schoen, president of the global petroleum and convenience retail division at Radiant Systems. "We are proud to expand our relationship with one ofthe industry's most remarkable brands, as we work together to do more for the consumer both in the store and at the fuel dispenser."
